Founded by civil engineer Haider S. Al-Rubaye in Beirut in February 2008, Babylon Development Company (BDC) is an independent, privately owned real estate firm whose roots go back to the ancient Iraqi city of Babylon. A young company, BDC follows in the footsteps of Al-Qaswaa United Company, the renowned Iraqi firm where BDC’s early beginnings began to take shape.

BDC today, through its local and regional affiliations, is perfectly positioned to respond to market needs and to deliver the full range of real estate services within the Middle East and beyond. An investor stronghold, BDC welcomes any investor from Lebanon, Iraq, or other countries.

In this context, BDC has a joint venture with real estate leader in Lebanon El-Hajjar Enterprises Co. (H.E.C) to provide residential compounds in Lebanon: AltaVista II and III and Rockland II, III, IV, V, and VI. The project-specific alliance aims at providing the public with residential spaces benefiting from the best of both cultures. This partnership, bringing together two of the world’s oldest, richest cultures, is bound to build bridges between Lebanon and Iraq – not only in terms of concrete, but on the economic, societal, and urban levels as well.
